Today i want to introduce you to the incredible SaraBeth! SaraBeth is a country singer from Texas, currently living in Nashville! She has an incredible voice and is so awesome! I'm pretty positive that I should be best friends with her because her tweets all accurately describe my life! I had the chance to interview her and you are going to want to check out what she has to say about CMA Fest, her music, and her move from Texas to Nashville! NN: When did you start singing, and fall in love with music? What inspired you to start singing as your career? SaraBeth: I started singing when I started talking. It was just something that came very natural. There isn't one defining moment but a collection of things that truly caused me to fall in love with music. It's one thing to sing for fun, and it's a totally different thing to say "I'm going to make this my career." My younger brother got drafted to play for the St. Louis Cardinals. When that happened is when I made my choice to do music. I didn't want to look back and wonder "what it". NN: You currently live in Nashville, how did you make that journey from Texas and what has your career been like so far in the music industry since you have moved? SaraBeth: It was a gradual journey. It started just making a monthly trip to Nashville, but before long I realized that if I wanted to really pour myself into music, I had to make the move. Luckily, a good friend from college was moving to Nashville at the same time and we got an apartment together. The energy of Nashville is amazing! NN: Who are some of your musical influences and do you use those to inspire your songwriting and musical sound? SaraBeth: I feel like my sound is always changing and evolving. Sometimes you write a song and think ... oh, that would be really cool if the track had a trumpet. Other songs need to be more broken down and acoustic sounding. I grew up listening to so much country music ... and other genres. My favorite artists were Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks. NN: What is your favorite song you have written so far and what is the story behind it / what inspired you to write it? SaraBeth: Gosh, that changes from day to day. Every song has a special place in my heart because you put a little piece of yourself into each song...even the ones that aren't quite as good lol! As far as songs I've written recently, I love a song called "Windshield (Not the Rearview)". I wrote this song with Glen Mitchell (who wrote Livin' Our Love Song) and Arlos Smith (who wrote Mayberry). The song talks about what we all go through when we move to Nashville. Music is so much fun, but it's also a lot of hard work. There are a lot of late nights, early mornings, and hoping you can pay your rent. At the end of the day, it's all worth it because I get to do what I love and meet and work with the most amazing people. NN: This year you toured in the UK, what does your touring schedule look like so far for 2016? I saw you would be updating UK dates soon, do you plan on touring in the US any? SaraBeth: I'm so excited to be back in the UK in 2016. I'm also excited to share some news soon about the US. We're working on dates for this year... so keep watching on my website tour page and social media. Here are SaraBeth's UK Dates! NN: What is your favorite place you have performed or your favorite show memory? SaraBeth: I played a show at The Wedge in Hartford, WI and the people were singing my own songs louder than I was. I know this sounds girly, but I nearly cried. I was in such shock. All those people were there for me, and they knew all my songs. NN: What is one bucket list item you have crossed off with your musical career so far? What is one item you hope to be able to cross off in the years to come? SaraBeth: I got to play on the same softball team as Vince Gill this past CMA Fest. That was pretty darn cool! As far as things to come... I would love to play the Opry. It's such an amazing, iconic venue. That would be a dream! NN: Can we expect to see you taking part in CMA Fest this year and if so what part will you be doing? Will you be using your social media team to help again this year and what part do you hope to have them do (I'm on the social media club and coming this year so I selfishly want to know if you can share haha but also other readers can look out for you at CMA Fest as well!) SaraBeth: Most definitely! It's a little too soon to spill all the CMA details, but I can't wait to see everyone! We'll be launching a new Social Media Club page soon ... and there will be a bunch of fun things happening. 2016 is going to be a really fun year in music! And as if SaraBeth wasn't cool enough, as I'm typing this post she is in Nicaragua meeting a little boy, Jonathan, who is 4, who she sponsors. If you would feel compelled to sponsor one as well you can check it out here. Below are SaraBeth's social media links! Make sure to follow her so you can stay up to date on her music career!
