Today I'm introducing you to part 2 of 5 for the Nashville Glam team! Pictured above is Meg Boes. Meg shares with us where her passion for glam came from, Maddie and Tae, working with wonderful people and the best tip shes learned from her career! You're going to have to read on if you want to find out what that is! NN: Please start by telling us a little bit about yourself. Who is Meg Boes? How did you get your passion and start in the Glam industry? Meg: My name is Meg Boes, I have an identical twin sister, Sophie, and I am weirdly passionate about all forms of art. My passion started at a young age when I would play in my moms makeup. I stepped fully into the glam industry when Tarryn Feldman inspired me to quit my day job, best decision I've ever made! NN: How or rather why did you decide to be apart of Nashville Glam? What makes the team of girls involved different that other glam teams? Meg: I knew joining forces with this group of insanely talented friends would be a success. We are all equally passionate about what we do. I feel like Nashville Glam provides a unique and wide range of work that not all group have to offer! NN: So you specifically do hair and make-up, correct? How do you differentiate from one client to the next so that they have their own look? What kinds of things do you use and think about before working with a client? Meg: I do hair, makeup/special fx, and wardrobe. I get to know each client I work for so I can piece together our vision into the look we are going for. Pinterest boards, group texts, and practice makes each job I do personal and individualized. NN: Who is one of your favorite artists/celebrity that you've had the pleasure of working with? What made them be a memorable client for you? Meg: Every single artist I have the pleasure of working with is amazing. The most memorable would be Jack White. When he was done he shook everyone's hand on set and thanked them, very humble human being. NN: You have worked with several country artists including Brantley Gilbert's wife Amber, Thomas Rhett's wife Lauren, and even Maddie and Tae for some red carpet events. I want to focus specifically on Maddie and Tea for this question, what is your favorite look that you've done on them? what made this look so memorable for you? Meg: I would have to say this years 2015 CMA look. Not only are those babes fashion forward and in charge, they won Video of the Year! Kristen Carbine rocked out their hair for that event. NN: Since the last question was geared towards a females look, do you ever work much with males? If so what do you tend to focus on or work with for them?
Meg: Yes! It all depends on the job, for basic grooming I make sure hair and skin are fresh looking. NN: Do you ever get starstruck working in the field with and around the people that you do? Meg: I wouldn't use the term starstruck but I have had to pinch myself a couple of times over jobs I've landed! NN: What is your favorite part of your job? Meg: Collaborating with not just other stylists, but everyone involved in the creative outcome on a job. I meet so many people who are ingenious in their line of work and it's always an inspiration to me. NN: Because ladies love doing hair and makeup, if you could give them on tip that you've learned from your career what would it be? Meg: Dirty hair is the best hair, and whatever look you wear- wear it with confidence! Meg- Thanks so much for taking the time to answer some questions and share some information about your job with us! Readers- you can check out Meg and her work over on her website here.
