Here are the nominees: Album of the Year Alabama Shakes, Sound and Color Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Chris Stapleton, Traveller Taylor Swift, 1989 The Weeknd, Beauty Behind the Madness (With how Chris Stapleton has kind of appeared out of no where we may see him have a shot with this award, however he is up against some great artists.) Song of the Year Kendrick Lamar, "Alright" Taylor Swift, "Blank Space" Little Big Town, "Girl Crush" Wiz Kahifa feat. Charlie Puth, "See You Again" Ed Sheeran, "Thinking Out Loud" (Little Big Town had a great idea with cutting Girl Crush. They have had a huge success with this song and I'm so happy for them!) Best New Artist Courtney Barnett James Bay Sam Hunt Tori Kelly Meghan Trainor (SAM HUNT for the win.. in my opinion! Hopefully Sam will be able to represent the country music genre with a win on Grammy Night! I saw him at a bar and he has completely blown up since then! I'm so happy for Sam and all he has accomplished.) Best Country Album Sam Hunt, Montevallo Little Big Town, Pain Killer Ashley Monroe, The Blade Kacey Musgraves, Pageant Material Chris Stapleton, Traveller (Once again we see Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt, and Little Big Town representing country music. I think we will see one of these three take home the Grammy for Best Country Album.) Best Country Duo/Group Performance Brothers Osborne, "Stay a Little Longer" Joey + Rory, "If I Needed You" Charles Kelley, Dierks Bentley & Eric Paslay, "The Driver" Little Big Town, "Girl Crush" Blake Shelton feat. I would love to see her take home this award, however she is up against some big acts!) Congratulations and good luck to all nominees! I can't wait to see who gets to represent country music and bring home the awards! A week ago we all surrounded the TV's to watch the 49th CMA awards. If you follow any of the singers on social media you might have been able to follow along with their CMA Day and how they got ready for the red carpet. Below are a few of my favorite female looks from the night! One of them features Jana Kramer who sported a Galia Lahav gown, covered in sequins. She looked gorgeous and her baby bump looked perfect! We also see Danielle Bradbery who wore an Oglia-Lora with a lace embellished skirt. She looked stunning walking down the isle and it reminded me or a Brittany Cole Kelley (Brian Kelley of FGL's wife) look. Another one of my favorites was Kelsea Ballerini's dress. She wore a gold Paolo Sebastian gown that had a tulle skirt. Other favorites include Cassadee Pope and Cam. Which one did you love? 5Hopefully you all watched the CMA Awards on Wednesday night! There was some great performances but the one that stuck out to me the most and got the most attention was probably the Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake performance, that was great! I want to recap what I got right and wrong on my predictions as well as who actually won each category (These are just the one's that they announced during the actual show, there were some given out early)! What I Got Right Single of The Year- Girl Crush Song of The Year- Girl Crush Vocal Duo of The Year- FGL Vocal Group of The Year- Little Big Town Female Vocalist of The Year- Miranda Lambert Entertainer of The Year- Luke Bryan What I Got Wrong New Artist of the Year- Chris Stapleton Album of The Year- Chris Stapleton Male Vocalist of The Year- Chris Stapleton If you will notice a trend I got every category that Chris Stapleton was nominated in wrong. If you're like me he completely flew under the radar and I had no idea who he was until Wednesday night. By judging the responses on Twitter, many of you were in the same boat. Chris Stapleton will not be ignored now. Up and coming country singer SaraBeth shed some light on this whole situation by sharing: So Excited about the winners at the cma awards. for everyone who's asking who chris stapleton is, go find him on itunes. he's written numerous hit songs, and his album is called traveller. he's incredibly deserving! Don't forget that today Cole Swindell's new EP drops today so go check it out and purchase it on iTunes!
It's CMA Day! The CMA Awards will air tonight at 8pm! They will be hosted again by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. I would imagine that CMA day is a very long day for country artists who participate and attend the event. If you have been on social media and keeping up with this weeks events you know they have already been busy with radio interviews, appearances, and many more events. We watched the Countdown to the CMA's with Robin Roberts on Monday Night, and have the actual awards show on Wednesday. The artists don't wake up all glammed out and ready for the day and there are many people involved, hair, make-up, designers, and so on that help them get red carpet ready! Take a look at some of my favorite red carpet outfits below! I can't wait to see what everyone shows up wearing for the red carpet!
Who do you want to see win tonight? Check out my predictions here and comment below with yours! The CMA Awards are quickly approaching! They air on November 4th at 8/7c. This awards show is one of my favorite. Today I will be sharing the nominations and then making my predictions of who will will each category!
