Today you are in store! We're working on coming back in full swing with all of our fun interviews, music reviews, concert reviews and more! To start all the fun we have our interview with Callie Twisselman! Read on to find out more about the insanely talented Callie! NashNews: Start off by telling us a little about who you are and how you got into music? Callie Twisselman: Well I grew up on my family's 7 generation grain and cattle ranch in Central California. I'm the youngest of 4 siblings, and I've loved country music since I can remember. My mother was a singer in a country band growing up,I remember watching her and singing along. By 10 I decided it was time to sing in front of a crowd, which I began with the National Anthem at our local Fair. NN: How would you describe your sound to people who haven't heard your music yet? Callie: I would described my sound as a genre bending style that combines modern country sounds with classic country themes. I write most all of my music, so everything you hear is real and true to who I am, things that are very relatable for others. NN: You're a singer/songwriter. If you had to pick one song that you've written to be your favorite which song would you choose? What's the story or meaning behind it? Callie: Right now I am mostly touring California. But I will be adding more dates very soon! A typical show day consists of waking up, exercising if I have the time, rehearsing and then doing the show. Nothing too glamorous lol NN: You can find Callie's touring dates here. NN: What has been your favorite show that you've done? Where was it? Why is it so special for you? Callie: My favorite show was opening for Florida Georgia Line. It was just a packed crowd and a lot of energy. I had a great time. NN: To go along with your last answer, you've shared the stage with some awesome acts such as Lee Brice, and FGL, how has that influenced your shows and stage presence? Callie: Opening for different major acts, I've learned a lot of things, watching how much they interact with the crowd and just how much fun they have on stage really makes the crowd feel that same energy and just makes for an awesome show. NN: If you could do a duet with anyone who would you choose and why? Callie: If I could do a duet with anyone it would be George Strait. He is just amazing, and a plus is every song he ever sings is a hit ;) NN: Anything else you want us to let our readers know? Callie: I have a clothing line called Sassy Girl clothing which you can check out on Facebook. Fashion is something I've always loved, so I decided to start it up this past year. It's a country chic wardrobe where you can find fringes, tribal prints, dresses, blouses and I will be adding new pieces come this October!
