Today we have our interview with Jill and Julia! They are a duo made of sisters that have an incredible sound and amazing music! Read on to find out more about them!
Tell us a little bit about who you are? You are a duo made up of sisters so how did you decide to form the duo and start making music?
Jill: While we were growing up music was a big part of our lives. We were always in piano, vocal, percussion or guitar lessons. Once we moved to Las Vegas we started seeing more and more opportunities to perform as a duo and from there our show schedule quickly filled up.
Describe your sound for those who may not have heard of you before? What makes you stand out from other bands and duos?
Julia: While we don’t personally like to pigeon hole ourselves in any one genre; I’d say to someone who hasn’t heard our music before that we are indie/alternative, almost like a mix of Lorde, Halsey and Imagine Dragons.
You guys are singer/songwriters, what is your favorite song that you've written and what is the story or meaning behind it?
Jill: Just Mad is a newer song that we recently wrote and recorded and it’s my favorite right now. It’s about coming to the realization that the world isn’t quite the way you saw it when you were younger and that perception of things can change over time.
Julia: Mine is always changing, but typically it’s the last song we wrote.

What is your favorite cover song to do? Why?
Jill: I made us add in Toxic by Britney Spears in our set about a year ago even though Julia was opposed to it but we get such a good crowd reaction from it that we ended up leaving in our live show and we still perform it.
Julia: I like to cover new songs that people don’t quite expect us to do like The Chainsmokers or Twenty One Pilots.
You guys have some touring coming up and have done a lot in the past, what is your favorite show that you have ever played? Why does this one stand out so much?
Jill: We played The Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas last year and that was a pretty cool show. We shared the stage with Halsey and we were on the lineup with tons of talented artists that we really admire like Imagine Dragons, Brandon Flowers and Weezer to name a few.
Julia: I’d say Life Is Beautiful and Route 91 Harvest Festival were both great experiences, but I also love opening for artists especially when they personally select you as the opener. That means a lot to us.
What does a typical touring day involve for you?
Julia: Tons of travel, sound check, chilling with whatever band we are playing with, then getting ready for the show. Once doors open and we see the crowd flood into the venue we get pretty energized. After our sets we always make time to meet anyone who wants to say hello and take a photo, that part is cool because we essentially come to a town as relatively unknown and then leave with tons of new friends that share the same love for music that we do.
If you could do a collaboration with anyone, who would you choose and why?
Jill: Imagine Dragons
Julia: The Killers or Jack White
